Dear Team,
I was sitting here this morning putting an email together for one of my Preferred Customers and it dawned on me that autumn is right around the corner. Here are some things to consider when developing your business strategies for the upcoming season…
August
Traditionally August isn’t a good month for the business. This is due to both time and finances. A lot of families cram in that last minute summer vacation and then start shopping and preparing for back to school. Finances during this month are tight – and most parents are not going to shop for themselves. Through the last week of August, people begin planning for the Labor Day Holiday to come.
This is the most productive time you will have to start planning for the upcoming months of the holiday season - our best time of the year!
September
The first week of September this year is when Labor Day will occur. After this weekend, it is smooth sailing through the end of October. This is also PRIME craft show season. Check your local listings to monitor the various craft show events. If you don’t have something handmade to participate in these events, consider attending them to network with the crafters. Most crafters work from home by choice - and could really use some extra income.
September is also valuable because moms have sent their kiddies back to school and need some MOM TIME. They will probably be very open to hearing about the MiSpa parties that pamper them and allow them gatherings with their friends. If you are to pursue the MiSpa Parties – be sure to start booking NOW.
This is also the best time to start planning your New Year recruitment strategy. If you are going to try to appeal to the senses of those looking for a new start in the new year, this is the time to check the deadlines of publications for ad or story submissions, develop your flyers, etc.
October
It is time to start thinking about Christmas and Hanukah. People are still purchasing items for themselves – but not as much, as it is time to think of others. Begin marketing your products as GIFTS during this month. This is truly your ONLY month to really push for holiday sales as the Thanksgiving holiday in November is another time for family and celebrations, not only for your prospects, but for yourself. So be sure to make EVERY day in this month count!
Also, be sure to start planning your holiday marketing NOW. This month is going to creep on us really fast, so we must be prepared! If you are going to mail your Preferred Customers a card, get them ordered. If you are doing an email campaign, start planning ideas for that. If you want to run a postcard holiday campaign, post flyers, or anything of the sort – the time to make them is NOW.
November
ONE Group does not guarantee holiday delivery far into the season and with Turkey Day in this month, it can be a real struggle. However, I have found that November is always my strongest month for product sales and new representatives – so don’t give up! If you work the business consistently through September and October, November will really pay off!
December
Ah, time to relax… By the second week of December you will notice an eerie silence in your email box, your telephone and every other aspect of your business. Take this time to relax and regroup as January will be another semi-quiet month that you should use full advantage of to plan your year’s strategy. February will kick off an incredible surge in people seeking the business opportunity. That new year – new leaf to turn over - can invariably be our Bodhi leaf!
Let’s Succeed Together!
